Defibrillator Pads

Defibrillator Pads

Defibrillator pads are used with a defibrillator when someone suffers a sudden cardiac arrest. They are placed on the victims chest and from here, the defibrillator will scan the heart to determine whether or not a shock is needed. If one is, it will deliver this shock via the electrode pads. Defibrillators do come equipped with defibrillator pads however, once used they must be replaced.

As well as adult defibrillator pads you can also purchase paediatric defibrillator pads which are designed for children typically under eight years old or 55kg. Adult pads can be used if there are not any paediatric pads available however, you should not let the pads touch when on the chest.

Defibrillator pads have an average shelf life of two to four years however, it is important to ensure you always have a back up available in case of an emergency. Peace of mind is paramount when it comes to emergency safety.
