Simulaids Choking Manikins

Simulaids Choking Manikins

When someone is choking, it means that they have an obstruction in their airways and are unable to breathe, meaning they need immediate attention. In order to provide the correct treatment, training can be undertaken so that abdominal thrusts or back blows are applied correctly.

To provide proficient and accurate training choking manikins can be used. They are designed to allow an object to be lodged in the manikin’s airway so that the student must decide where to place their hands in regard to the objects position and decide how much pressure is required. They also allow students with the visual confirmation of an expelled object.

As choking can happen to anyone no matter their age and size, it is important that you are able to differentiate between the different treatments that might be needed. This includes when and when not to perform abdominal thrusts or back blows.

To ensure all ages and sizes are covered when training Simulaids offer infant, child, adolescent, adult and obese choking manikins. These are all life-sized allowing the trainee to gauge what treatment is needed for different patients and then feel confident enough to apply this knowledge to a real-life situation.

To make the process as realistic as possible manikins are fitted with an open oral cavity, ribs and anatomical features.   If you have any questions regarding our Simulaids Choking Manikins, then please send our team an email at sales@risk-assessment-products.co.uk.
