Description

Be prepared for lithium-ion battery and metal fire incidents with PyroFlow Active Fire Suppression Granules (PFA17), a mineral-based fire-fighting agent made from expanded glass granulate. Designed for active response, PyroFlow Active can be used to fight and suppress fires in lithium-ion battery cells and flammable metals, helping to smother flames, cool the fire load, and limit further reaction.

When applied to a fire load, PyroFlow works by separating oxygen from the combustible material. Under high temperatures, the granules absorb significant heat and melt to form a glass-like layer, creating an impermeable shell around the fire load to help encapsulate it and reduce re-ignition risk. It also binds liquids and filters gases, supporting safer, more controlled incident management as part of your fire risk controls.

Supplied in a 17kg sealed plastic bag with a fine granulate (0.25–0.5mm), it’s free flowing and easy to use in emergency response scenarios where it is considered safe to approach.

Key benefits:

  • Active fire-fighting agent for lithium-ion battery cell fires and flammable metals
  • Non-toxic, eco-friendly, mineral-based expanded glass granulate
  • Smothers and suppresses fires by separating oxygen from the fire load
  • Absorbs heat and can form an impermeable shell around the fire load under extreme temperatures
  • Binds liquids and filters gases
  • Fine, free-flowing granulate for practical coverage.

Specifications:

  • Content weight: 17kg
  • Granulate size: Fine granulate 0.25–0.5mm
  • Bag material: Plastic
  • Bag dimensions: 800 (H) × 400 (W) × 150 (L) mm.

Safety note: Battery fires can be unpredictable. Only approach if it is considered safe to do so and always follow a suitable and sufficient fire risk assessment and PPE guidance.
