Description

The iPAD SP1 Fully Automatic Defibrillator from CU Medical Systems is an easy-to-use AED designed to guide the rescuer clearly through a cardiac arrest emergency. If a shockable heart rhythm is detected, the fully automatic SP1 delivers the shock automatically without requiring the rescuer to press a shock button.

Suitable for both adults and children, the SP1 uses the same pre-connected electrode pads for both. A protected adult/paediatric selector changes the operating mode and reduces the energy level for a child without the need to change pads.

Clear illuminated illustrations and calm voice prompts guide the rescuer through each stage. An ambient noise detector automatically adjusts the volume of the voice prompts to help instructions remain audible in noisy environments.

Why Choose the iPAD SP1?

  • Fully automatic operation - automatically delivers a shock when a shockable rhythm is detected
  • Adult and child use - change between modes without changing electrode pads
  • Pre-connected SMART pads - pad status and remaining life are monitored by the AED
  • Clear rescue guidance - illuminated visual instructions and calm voice prompts
  • Automatic volume adjustment - detects background noise and adjusts voice prompts accordingly
  • CPR support - includes CPR detection and a metronome to guide chest compressions
  • Easy readiness checks - indicators show device, battery and electrode pad status
  • IP55 protection - designed to provide protection against dust and water ingress
  • Long warranty - 7 years as standard, upgradeable to 10 years free of charge when registered

Adult and Paediatric Use

The iPAD SP1 is supplied with pre-connected dual-use adult and paediatric electrode pads.

For a child, the user simply lifts the protective cover and changes the AED to paediatric mode using the selector switch. There is no need to find and fit a separate set of child pads.

The SP1 delivers 150 J in adult mode and 50 J in paediatric mode. The supplied pads can be used on adults and children aged 1 year and over.

This makes the SP1 particularly practical for locations where both adults and children may be present.

Fully Automatic Operation with Clear Rescue Guidance

The iPAD SP1 analyses the patient's heart rhythm automatically. If it detects a shockable rhythm, the fully automatic model charges and delivers the shock without requiring the rescuer to press a shock button.

Throughout the rescue, the SP1 provides calm voice prompts and illuminated visual instructions to guide the user through the required actions.

CPR detection and an integrated metronome provide additional support during chest compressions.

Automatic Volume Adjustment

Emergency situations can be noisy, particularly in schools, workplaces, sports facilities and public areas.

The SP1 has an ambient noise detector that monitors surrounding noise and automatically adjusts the volume of its voice prompts. The prompts can adjust up to 90 dB to help the rescuer hear instructions in busy environments.

Easy AED Readiness Checks

The iPAD SP1 provides clear information about the condition of the AED, battery and electrode pads.

Its status indicator shows whether the AED is operating correctly, while separate indicators display the remaining battery level and electrode pad life. The device also performs automatic self-testing to help identify faults before the AED is required in an emergency.

Where Can the iPAD SP1 Be Used?

The combination of fully automatic operation, adult and child capability and clear rescue guidance makes the iPAD SP1 suitable for a wide range of public access and workplace locations, including:

  • Schools and colleges
  • Offices and workplaces
  • Sports clubs and leisure facilities
  • Community locations
  • Retail environments
  • Hospitality venues
  • Healthcare settings
  • Public access AED locations.

The ability to use the same electrode pads for adults and children is particularly useful in locations where people of different ages are present.

What's Included?

The standard iPAD SP1 package includes:

  • iPAD SP1 Fully Automatic Defibrillator
  • Protective carrying case
  • Disposable lithium manganese oxide battery

Battery and Electrode Pads

The SP1 uses a disposable lithium manganese oxide battery with an expected standby life of up to five years. The battery is supplied with a four-year warranty.

The pre-connected electrode pads can be used for either an adult or child, removing the need to maintain a separate set of paediatric pads.

The SP1 also monitors electrode pad status and can provide an audible instruction when pads need replacing or connecting.

Warranty

The iPAD SP1 is supplied with a 7-year warranty as standard.

This can be upgraded to 10 years free of charge when the defibrillator is registered, subject to the manufacturer's registration and warranty terms.
